Kisii Water and Sanitation Company PLC (KWASCO), in partnership with the Government of Kenya through the Water Sector Trust Fund and KfW, successfully commissioned the Kiogoro Water Project on 11th March 2026.
The project, which marks a key milestone in improving water access within Kisii County, includes:
- Construction of 1 NR. water kiosk to enhance community access
- Extension of 9.4 kilometres of water pipeline to reach more households
- Installation of an elevated 150m³ steel storage tank to boost supply reliability
The commissioning ceremony was officiated by Hon. Cyrus Masenge Nyabicha, County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Water, Environment, Natural Resources, Energy, and Climate Change.
The project is expected to significantly improve water availability, reduce supply interruptions, and enhance the overall quality of life for residents of Kiogoro and surrounding areas.
